This 301-S hails from 1969. The code for serial numbers goes as follows: The first letter of the serial number responds to the following year: 1965: A, 1966: B, 1967: C, 1968: D, 1969: E. Then they switched to numbers in 1969 so that some 1969 models have an A or 1. 1969: 1, 1970: 2 ... My service manual only goes to 1976, so I'm not sure of the progression after then.
